Ocupar una tribuna
Temporarily occupying the grandstand of a disused building for one hour with around 300 people the 1st of December 2012.
Since 2006, the publicly owned Canòdrom Meridiana in Barcelona has been shut down and disused. After the renovation phase, the gutted building lost its purpose: the former dog track became a public square and the grandstand was closed off. Different projects were agreed to provide an use to this empty space (equipments for the neighborhood like a library or a contemporary art center for the city) but in spite of the citizen opposition, none of them were done.

This action staged an everyday situation (sitting down to while away the time) in a place where there is 'nothing' to see, and introduces a crowd that briefly resignifies the dysfunctionality of the grandstand as a public space.
