Aumentar el caudal de un río
Starting a collective decision-making process to remove the posters covering the walls of a university for one day.

The Seat Marcelo T. de Alvear of the Social Science Faculty in Buenos Aires is placed in the former Institut of Maternity and Social Assistance. It is a public university with an active student movement organised around assemblies and with a revolutionary tradition of political activism. Most of the posters are hand-made by different student groups to communicate their ideas and activities, many of them for electoral processes. The posters are displayed in strictly defined areas according to the political strength of each group. During the academic year the walls are always full of posters, which are a distinctive feature of the faculty.

Before moving to a new building, and before the Student Centre elections, the proposed plan to remove the posters for a day sparked a debate in the student community about the management and the meaning of this public space. After an open dialogue process, a group of students decided to take action. The documentation is a record of how the heterogeneous student community gradually gives shape to the action over four months.
